Delicious parboiled and aromatic rice recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Peger Industry Parboiled Rice
  • 4 cups of water
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cumin powder
  • 1 tablespoon powdered ginger
  • 1 tablespoon curry powder
  • 1 tablespoon sweet paprika
  • 2 bay leaves
  • Chopped parsley to serve

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the rice under running water until the water runs clear. This helps remove excess starch and impurities that can make rice sticky.
  2. In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until soft and translucent.
  3. Add minced garlic and saute for another 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
  4. Add the parboiled rice, cumin powder, ginger powder, curry powder, sweet paprika and bay leaves. Mix well and sauté for a few more minutes, until the rice is lightly browned.

  6. When the water is bubbling, reduce the heat to a minimum and cover the pan. Let the rice cook for about 40-45 minutes, or until the water is completely absorbed and the rice is cooked through.
  7. Remove the pan from the heat and let the rice rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
  8. Sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.
